tl;dr: responsible, sad and hopeful in turn, terrible and flawed and trying so damn hard to be better

iana tries to be good, to be the person her people would have needed, the person the survivors now need. she feels responsible for them - but also for the losses the anean people have suffered. there's more blood on her hands than she'd like and she's seen too much pretend that she's innocent. she wants to turn over a new page but doesn't know how to, caught between past and future, between her role as (future) ruler of her people and learning to live on earth.

on account of being anean and a member of the royal house, iana possesses strong magic. hers runs toward controlling organic matter. this can mean healing or inflicting wounds or even run toward forcing someone into movement or stillness. using her magic too much makes the skin of her hands (and arms, if she uses a lot) turn numb and unfeeling. she's trained a soldier.
